ON
Advanced
Implant Therapy From Immediate Tooth Replacement to Controlled Tissue
Reconstruction

& MONDAY 5-6 SEPTEMBER 2004
The
last few years have seen major advancements in biological understanding
of periimplant soft tissues, bone regenerative results and Implant
aesthetics. These advances have allowed a very precise 3-dimensional
implant position and a predictable restorative result with natural
beauty and gingival harmony.
This
presentation will discuss the necessary understanding of soft tissue
behaviour, appropriate horizontal and vertical bone regenerative
procedures, ideal implant design and -surface and patient management.
The
guidelines for aesthetic and surgical control with respect to the ideal
implant placement and the biological and clinical requirements to
maintain optimal bone tissue and gingival papilla levels around dental
implants will be given for the following patient groups.
I)
Implant sites with ideal soft tissue-bone relationship will be discussed
and the results of immediate tooth replacement and tissue preservation
will be demonstrated.
II)
Implant sites with compromised soft tissue-bone relation ship will be
discussed and the case selection, delicate management of soft tissues,
bone graft harvest and membrane placement, and the detailed steps for
success from an evidence based and clinical step-by-step fashion will be
highlighted,
III)
The indications, results and complications of advanced bone
reconstruction procedures in partially edentulous patients with
autogenous bone grafts, barrier membranes, PRP-grafting and distraction
osteogenesis will be presented and discussed.
